'Vlasic'

The absolute AUDACITY of a language that puts 'v' and 'l' together as a consonant cluster. They've gone totally tits-out with that one. Commendable.

Nurse

If he’s anywhere as good as Vlad Coufal, it’s fine by me.

Re: Nikola Vlasic
Well, he’s Croatian, from Hvratska. H followed by V then R is a challenge as well

I think Moyes is trying to fill the team with consonant clusters to amuse Nurse.

Re: Nikola Vlasic
We have a Vlad already, so would be a nice pair.

Re: Nikola Vlasic
In English we have 'fl' but it never occurred to us to add 'vl'

Happily, the Eastern Europeans were not so reticent. It's a pleasant sound to make.

Needless to say his first goal will be greeted as a Vlasic Classic... Just to confound Nursey

Re: Nikola Vlasic
Do you think footballers with a Vl are better than those with a Fl? Bert Flatley.

ironsofcanada 7:38 Sun Aug 29
Re: Nikola Vlasic
It is shame he is not a defensive midfielder or similar that the crunching aspect of this would be more applicable.

Didn’t ‘The Swiss’ mug himself right off on the word ‘curry’ as well?

Re: Nikola Vlasic
Though Dracula may seem like a singular creation, Stoker in fact drew inspiration from a real-life man with an even more grotesque taste for blood: Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia or — as he is better known — VLAD the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), a name he earned for his favourite way of dispensing with his enemies.
